Seychellois Creole, English, and French are official languages, with Creole needed for broad household interviewing and English common in government and business documentation. Instruments often use English for officials and Creole for general respondents, with French added for some audiences. Translation should check island usage and avoid assuming that written French or English captures everyday Creole comprehension.

The population is small and highly concentrated on Mahe, especially around Victoria and nearby districts, with Praslin and La Digue adding smaller but important island coverage. Rural and outer island populations are limited but logistically distinct. National samples need careful island quotas because small absolute numbers can distort results, while targeted samples can focus on Mahe or the tourism islands.

Mobile and internet reach are high enough for phone and online surveys among many groups, although small samples and respondent duplication need control. Face-to-face work is shaped by inter-island transport, tourism seasons, weather, and access rules for outer islands. Government, health, marine, or education studies commonly need ministry approval and ethics review, with fieldwork often completed in one to three weeks.
