Plan research in Cameroon.

French and English are official languages and the main administrative languages, with French dominant nationally and English central in the North-West and South-West. National studies often need Fulfulde, Ewondo, Duala or other regional language support. Translation and back-translation should account for bilingual regions, Cameroon Pidgin English and local-language oral administration.

Douala and Yaounde are the largest urban anchors, while Bafoussam, Bamenda and Garoua represent important regional markets. Rural populations are spread across forest, highland, coastal and northern savanna zones. National samples need language-region strata and separate urban-rural allocation; targeted studies should define francophone, anglophone and northern coverage precisely.

Mobile access supports phone surveys across many areas, but online surveys skew toward major cities and educated users. Face-to-face work must consider rainy seasons, difficult roads and security constraints in the Far North and parts of anglophone regions. Ministry, local authority and ethics approvals are common for public or health research. Fieldwork often takes three to five weeks.
